CREATION TIME 1st Sept to 4th October (feast of St. Francis) Care of Creation – Our Common Home.

"Nature is filled with words of love, but how can we listen to them amid constant noise, interminable and nerve-wracking distractions, or the cult of appearances? Many people today sense a profound imbalance which drives then to frenetic activity and makes them feel busy, in a constant hurry which in turn leads them to ride rough-shod over everything around them. This too affects how they treat the environment" (Laudato Si, para 225)

An evening of prayer and reflection on the Care of Creation : ‘Faith and our Common Home’ - how do we heal the world?

TAKING STEPS TO END A LIFE !
Our Supreme Court has judged that it is not unlawful to kill people by taking food and drink away from them. Yet the intention is to end their lives sooner than would otherwise happen. We can have all sorts of “kindly” motives, but in doing so we judge that a patient’s life should be ended. A ‘patient’ is a person. If we allow ourselves to choose to end a person’s life, we have crossed a line into euthanasia by refusing to give basic natural sustenance to that person. Such a massive decision is not for a few judges – it is for a nation’s Parliament. (See Tablet, 4th August)
We should contact our MPs and the government to protest this, loud and strong. For many of us, the MP is wallaceb@parliament.com , (or write to Mr. Ben Wallace, MP, House of Commons, London.) Give your address and postcode to prove you’re a constituent. If in another constituency, search for your MP online.
