Fr. Simon and Fr. Bob are most grateful for your kindness and generosity at Christmas, with cards, gifts, good wishes and donations. May the New Year be a time of blessing for you and yours, with Our Lady being there for you all the time.

Our condolences & prayers to Jean Worden and her family on the death of Terry, her husband. Terry served us here for many decades as a welcome and a collector. May he rest in peace.

And we are all grieved to hear of the death of Gregory, Eileen Bolton’s grandson, only a few days after the funeral of her husband Jim. May he rest in peace, and may his parents and Eileen receive strength from God.

FEASTS THIS WEEK - Tuesday: MARY, MOTHER OF GOD
Wednesday: St. Basil the Great & St. Gregory Nazian-zen
Sunday: THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD
..........................................................................................................
We do need people to help in the Confirmation and Communion classes (assisting, not teaching!)
For Confirmation it's on Tuesdays 4.pm- 5 pm once a month, and for Holy Commnion it's Saturdays 4.30-5.30 pm, but not every week, and never in the holidays.
We need one more kind person who will be present at each Communion preparation class (Saturdays, 4.30pm – but not every week). You won’t be doing the teaching or planning, but you’ll be so valuable as a responsible adult support.

Epiphany party (Music, Magic and More).
Sunday, January 6th, 2.00 to 4.00. In the Parish Centre. Offers of help and donations of items for afternoon tea gratefully received. More details later. Contact: Father Bob or Bernard and Anthea.
We celebrate twelve days of Christmas joy. The Epiphany party helps to finish with a flourish! We hope to see you there.

KEVIN GILCHRIST is stepping down from the role of Property Manager for the parish.
He will continue with some tasks which help us greatly, such as the lighting and heating.
He has been not only efficient but also most helpful and willing, often spending many hours
in supervising work, getting firms, putting things right himself… I hope he can rest a little more,
though Isabel might find jobs ! Thank you very much, Kevin.

“Angels we have heard on high” and seen on the ends of benches! Lots of people,

HOPE FOR CREATION - OUR COMMON HOME:
The Climate Change Conference in Poland. has now closed. Are we ready?
Care of Creation – Our Common Home
"A very solid scientific consensus indicates that we are presently witnessing a disturbing warming of the climatic system.
Humanity is called to recognize the need for changes of lifestyle, production and consumption
in order to combat this warming or at least the human causes which produce or aggravate it". (
Laudato Si, para 23 ).
N.B.: in October 2018, the scientific consensus was that we must reduce our carbon emissions 45% by 2030,
and be "carbon neutral" by 2050 if we are to prevent catastrophic climate change.
